Moving into the 21st Century
Photography has certainly come a long way from the traditional Polaroids. Gone are the days of snapping a picture, removing the film cartridge and dropping it off at the store for developing.
After a week or so of waiting, the end results were anybody’s guess. Without any editing features being available, what you saw before you was what you got. Cropping, sharpening, brightness or contrast
adjustments were only available if you had your own film processing and print studio. Since the arrival of digital photography, everyone now has the capability for successful photo editing.

There is no end to the amount of digital photography software that provides various levels of photo editing. With a respectable digital camera, a computer with a quality printer, and one of the many versions of photo editing software, you can make amazing photographs. You can darken or lighten the exposure, adjust the contrast, crop for closer views of your intended subject, sharpen the image, convert it to blackand white, sepia, or grayscale.
By adding a good scanner, you have the capability to edit your old typical photographs. That old faded wedding photo of your parents can be made new again with only a few clicks of the mouse. Some software will allow you to merge objects from one photograph into another. Create a keepsake for a family member displaying their pictures from birth to present. The possibilities are up to you.
